The Health Sector Maintenance Programme aimed to improve health service delivery in Malawi by strengthening the management and maintenance of medical equipment. The program focused on building the technical and organizational capacity for an efficient physical assets maintenance system, using a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) approach. Key activities included a feasibility study, the development of an implementation plan, and a nationwide inventory of medical equipment to support the future contracting of maintenance services to a Private Maintenance Contractor (PMC).
