Asian Development Bank


The Asian Development Bank (ADB) intended to provide an estimated USD100 million to the Government of Uzbekistan for the proposed Integrated Perinatal Care Project. The project builds on several investments made in the last two decades aiming at developing and strengthening health system of Uzbekistan, adding value to the efforts in improving quality of perinatal care. The intended impact of the project is reduction of maternal and neonatal mortality rates, and the project outcome is an increased utilization of perinatal care services, which will be achieved through four project outputs: (i) perinatal centers modernized and upgraded; (ii) perinatal referral system strengthened; (iii) quality improvement at perinatal centers enhanced; and (iv) maternal health seeking behavior improved.
