The proposed 1200 bedded hospital shall be the main referral hospital for the city, and shall provide tertiary specialist care for a wide range of specialties. The hospital shall be designed to international standard to modernize the healthcare delivery for the city, and provide accessible healthcare to the local population. It shall also be equipped with state of the art medical equipment and technologies.

The central concept of the masterplan is to have a series of gardens connecting the different components to provide an oasis for healing. Like the Ganh Hao River, a central spine weaves through the hospital building, connecting the old Ca Mau hospital to the new hospital, as well as connecting the different components of the hospital into a cohesive complex.
